Birthday Pak Usu Tasneem

Kek ni aku buat sempena hari lahir adik aku, helmi. Memandangkan hari lahir dia bulan feb dan kebetulan pertunangan pakngah tasneem, so aku pn buat la sekali kek ni.. Kek redvelvet ni sedap, tp agak muak bagi yang tidak mengemari. Resepi ni aku amik dari joy of baking

Bahan-bahan

2 1/2 cups (250 grams) sifted cake flour - aku guna tepung kek nona. Itu je yang ada
1/2 teaspoon salt - tak masukkan
2 tablespoons (15 grams) regular or Dutch-processed cocoa powder - guna serbuk koko biasa
1/2 cup (113 grams) unsaltedbutter, at room temperature
1 1/2 cups (300 grams) granulated whitesugar - guna gula castor
2 largeeggs - 2 biji telur gred A 
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract - ku guna esen vanilla
1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk - 1 cup fresh milk + 1 sudu besar jus lemon
2 tablespoons liquid red food coloring - 1 sudu besar red color jenama star bright
1 teaspoon white distilled vinegar 
1 teaspoon baking soda - ganti dgn baking powder

Kaedah


In a mixing bowl sift together the flour, salt, and cocoa powder. Set aside.
In bowl of your electric mixer, or with a hand mixer, beat the butter until soft (about 1-2 minutes). Add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes). Add the eggs, (masukkan telur sebijik demi sebiji) one at a time, beating well after each addition. 

Scrape down the sides of the bowl .Add the vanilla extract and beat until combined.
In a measuring cup whisk the buttermilk with the red food coloring. With the mixer on low speed, alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, in three additions, beginning and ending with the flour. (masukkan tepung~buttermilk~tepung~buttermilk~tepung)
In a small cup combine the vinegar and baking soda. Allow the mixture to fizz and then quickly fold into the cake batter. 

Bakar dgn api 180c selama 30 minit atau sehingga kek masak. Ikut jenis oven.

Cheese frosting

250gm Cream cheese
100 gm butter
100gm icing sugar
2 cawan non diary whipping cream
1 sudu teh jus lemon

Beat whipping cream sampai soft peak atau bertanduk. Biarkan. Beat cream cheese dgn butter dan sugar. beat sehingga sebati. kemudian masukkan jus lemon. beat sebentar. Kemudian campurkan adunan whipping cream dan cream menggunakan kaedah kaup balik.

Potong kek kepada 2. Layerkan pada kek dan ratakan keseluruhan kek. Hias la ikut kemahuan masing-masing.
